Welcome to Changepoints Couples Therapy
If you’re feeling motivated and ready to do what it takes to create the outcome you’re looking for, then you’re in the right place.
At Changepoints therapy, I specialize in helping individuals and couples recognize and replace negative, self-defeating patterns that impact their own quality of life and relationships.
I work with couples in all stages of their relationships, from deciding if marriage is right for them to repairing and rebuilding trust or working through concerns or issues that naturally arise within a partnership.
Hello, I’m Dr. Rosalie Hydock
Licensed Psychologist, Ph.D.
For more than 25 years, I’ve worked with individuals and couples in many ways, helping them navigate the changes and challenges of life transitions, relationship dynamics, and personal growth.
I work with a wide range of issues, but the best part of my job is serving as a “catalyst” – – helping couples make the changes that make their lives better. By providing encouragement and support, along with research-based ideas and strategies for change, I help clients develop the needed capacities to create happier and more fulfilling lives.
My mission has always been to facilitate the growth and development of others through education, coaching, and therapy. My previous careers in corporate consulting, clinical supervision, and education leadership have deepened my understanding of how people from a wide variety of backgrounds relate, work, and grow.
Every professional endeavor has focused on assisting others to set high, realistic goals and then create a plan for action that will help them achieve goals. I love the work that I do and consider myself very fortunate to be able to work with motivated individuals and couples who are eager to discover their own potential and possibly for creating something better.
My Approach
I help individuals and couples identify the changes they want to make and then work collaboratively to develop research-based treatment plans that help them achieve those goals by working from a non-judgmenta1, strength-based, cognitive-behavioral orientation.
I invite my clients to be active partners in the therapy process and encourage them to be proactive as we work together. My style is relatively direct, but always in supportive and compassionate way. I work with a wide variety of individuals and couples and am mindful of their values, experiences, and world views that impact our work.
My training and experience includes working with some of the most prominent experts in couples therapy today. I use recognized, research-based relational models including work from the Couples InstiNte, the Relational Life Institute, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method. I stay abreast of current trends and findings by being an active member of several national and international peer consulting groups.
I use only evidence-based, outcome-focused strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which have been proven to produce the outcomes that are the focus of therapy. My education and experience make it possible for me to create effective, personalized approaches that will help you reach your individual and paNnership goals.
The problems addressed in therapy are oñen complex and include many different elements that must be considered. As difficult as it can be to recognize the need for change and deal with the challenges of transition, the experience can also be upliñing and enlightening. Let me show you how.
